About the role
Relationships Australia Queensland is currently seeking a professional and dedicated Family Relationship Advisor. Join our dedicated team at the Family Relationship Advice Line (FRAL) Contact Centre in Eight Mile Plains, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting families through challenging times. As a full-time member of our professional contact centre, you will provide high-quality information, advice, and referrals to individuals navigating complex family situations, including separation, divorce, and domestic or family violence. Additionally, you will:
Provide responsive and empathetic support to clients, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed with sensitivity.
Assess customer needs and risks in accordance with established protocols, offering accurate information, advice, and appropriate referrals.
Apply theoretical knowledge of family dynamics, separation, and domestic and family violence to inform your interactions and interventions.
Manage crisis calls professionally, referring clients to specialist services when necessary.
Maintain accurate client records and case notes using the Client Information System for reporting and referral purposes.
Participate actively in supervision, professional development, and reflective practice to continually enhance your skills and service delivery.
About you
You are a compassionate and skilled professional with a strong background in social or behavioural sciences, committed to supporting individuals and families through complex and sensitive situations. You bring excellent communication and time management skills, along with the ability to assess client needs and risks effectively. Your experience in customer service or community services, combined with your knowledge of family dynamics and domestic and family violence, enables you to provide informed, respectful, and client-centred support. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are dedicated to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
Additionally, you have:
An undergraduate qualification in Social or Behavioural Sciences, with postgraduate qualifications and professional memberships highly desirable.
Experience working in an incoming call centre or customer service role, preferably within a community services setting.
Demonstrated ability to engage proactively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Strong knowledge of systems theory and relevant theoretical models to identify client needs and provide appropriate interventions.
A thorough understanding of domestic and family violence frameworks, including social justice and feminist perspectives.
